An integrated approach, involving both prevention and security measures, has recently been proposed in Italy to deal with the potential intentional contamination of the drinking water supply.
Specific strategies, management processes and operative procedures have been developed by a cooperative task force involving the Ministry of Health, the ISS and the Italian association of water companies (Federgasacqua).
