Restoring the riverbeds of Vltava and Berounka, clearing the flood deposits and restoring navigation routes and river access roads.

During the last millennium, 10 major floods were recorded in Prague. In the 19th century, 4 major floods occured : 1845, 1862, 1872, 1890.
After the flood of the Vltava river basin in 2002, damage was assessed at over 2,4 billion Kč (80 mil EUR). In Prague alone, the damage reached 460 mil Kč (15,3 mil EUR).
Four kinds of repair work were carried out :
- Maintenance of bank vegetation (35 mil Kč),
- Repair of weirs, ship locks (150 mil Kč),
- Removal of 283 000 m3 of river bed deposits (135 mil Kč),
- Repairs of bank protection devices (140 mil Kč).
